What is a Banda De Musica?

 

Banda de musica is a type of folkloric musical group that originated in the northern region of Mexico and is often seen at weddings, rodeos, parties, parades, baptisms, quinceaneras and indoor church services. The group is made up of about 18 men in brightly colored cowboy hats, western shirts and matching pants, all swaying to the beat of a song. They also play instruments and sing in stanzas with the lyrics usually about love, lost love or everyday events.
